Forum: feature_films Subject: Are any of these war movies PD?

I've got a Mill Creek war movie pack, and I would imagine that most or all of the movies on it are PD, but want to check and make sure. Here are the titles not already up on the archive, as far as I can tell:

Battle of Blood Island 1960
Commandos 1968 (Italian production, so probably GATTed)
Convoy 1940
The Dawn Express 1942
Four in a Jeep 1951 (might be GATTed, British production)
The Adventures of Tartu 1943
Identity Unknown 1945
The Last Chance 1945 (might be GATTed, British production)
Minesweeper 1943
The Navy Way 1944
Spitfire (aka The First of the Few) 1942

There is no watermark or logo on any of the ones I've watched, so as long as they're public domain, I can just rip them and upload.

So, which ones should I avoid?

These are all OK:
Battle of Blood Island 1960
Convoy 1940
The Dawn Express 1942
The Adventures of Tartu 1943
Identity Unknown 1945
Minesweeper 1943
The Navy Way 1944
Spitfire (aka The First of the Few) 1942

You should avoid these ones:
Commandos 1968
Four in a Jeep 1951
The Last Chance 1945

Battle of Blood Island! One of Roger Corman's few acting gigs! (As "Soldier on Hill")
Think there's enough Roger & Gene Corman stuff on here yet to form a subcatagory?

Many thanks! I'll try to get one or two up this weekend. (Old and slow computer, so conversion is not rapid.)

Which to transcode first? My vote is for "Identity Unknown".

I'm already in process on The Adventures of Tartu, but I'll do Identity Unknown next. :)
